  2nd Annual Senior Black American Free Health Fair Scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center Conference Building Robert L. Newton, Jr., PhD, Associate Professor, Physical Activity & Ethnic Minority Health, will be hosting the 2nd annual Senior Black American Health Fair scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center Conference Building. This free event will bring African American Seniors (age 60+) together with local health professionals, to engage in a valuable information exchange directly relating to issues of African Americans health, nutrition, and wellness. The Senior Black American health Fair provides a forum for learning, health experiences, and open discussions relating to the health concerns and challenges facing African Americans. Baton Rouge to provide free dental, vision and medical services in two-day clinic

by: Reggi Marion BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The city of Baton Rouge is getting ready for a two-day clinic, which will provide free dental, vision and medical services to people in the community. Former councilwoman, Donna Collins-Lewis, stopped by Fox 44 First Edition to discuss next month’s event called  Love Heals Free Clinic . The clinic will be on Saturday, April 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 16 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Raising Cane’s River Center. The mayor’s office said the event has serviced over 1,400 residents in the past. Services that will be offered include: Dental: X-Rays Filings Extractions Cleaning Vision: Exam Glaucoma Screening Prescription Eye Glasses Medical: Wellness Exams Diabetes Screenings and Education Blood Pressure Screenings Illness Diagnosis and minor treatments Health Promotion and education Collins-Lewis said there is still a big need for sponsors and dentists.
