The Louisiana Department of Education, in coordination with the Louisiana State Police, Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Louisiana Center for Safe Schools and Motorola will host the 2023 Louisiana School Safety Summit on  Thursday, June 15 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana . Love Heals Free Clinic Calls for Dental, Vision and Medical Volunteers in Baton Rouge

A free pop-up health clinic will be setting up shop this spring in Baton Rouge with the help of hundreds of dental and medical professionals and volunteers. The  Love Heals Free Clinic is looking for local volunteers for the two-day free clinic , happening April 15 - 16, 2023 at the Raising Cane's River Center in Baton Rouge.  The free clinic last visited Baton Rouge in 2019, when nearly 1,000 underserved individuals received needed basic dental, vision, and medical services. BRCC / BRAHL Hosts Women's Summit & Healthcare Expo

Baton Rouge Community College/Baton Rouge Advancing Health Literacy (BRAHL) is hosting a   “Women’s Summit & Health Care Expo” .  We are seeking partners in the local health care industry, educational institutions, and community organizations to join us.  The purpose of this event is to increase health awareness and provide health care literacy in the community.    This event will be held  Friday, April 21, 2023  at Baton Rouge Community College – Magnolia Gallery from  12 pm to 3 pm  (vendor set-up from 10 am to 12 pm ).   Emmy-Winning   Actress Lynn Whitfield, native of Baton Rouge, will serve as our keynote speaker.  The women’s summit will begin at 2 pm in Baton Rouge Community College’s Magnolia Theater.  This event will feature various community leaders, BRCC and EBR students, faculty, and residents of the Capital City.   The following will be provided:  JiggAerobics  Health Screenings  Health Care Vendors  Health Sessions  Food, DJ, Door Prizes    This note serves as an invi

BRAHL Launches Kids' Coloring Contest (thru May 31)

Baton Rouge, La – April 6, 2023 –  The   Family Resource Group   Foundation and   Kid Scoop News , along with the   City of Baton Rouge   and   Baton Rouge Advancing Health Literacy , are hosting a coloring contest to promote children's access to health literacy and good hygiene practices in the wake of COVID-19 and other potentially dangerous illnesses.
